Notion Leaves the Russian Market

The popular note-taking and team collaboration service, Notion, has announced its departure from the Russian market. The service will completely cease operations for accounts associated with users from Russia.

Notion has over 30 million users worldwide. While the exact number of users in Russia is unknown, in January 2024, the company noted that Russia ranked second in the number of users, following Poland.

Starting from September 9, 2024, users in Russia will no longer be able to access the platform.

It is worth noting that since 2022, Notion has stopped accepting payments from Russian cards, prompting many users to switch to the free version. This news is particularly impactful for IT specialists, digital agencies, and individual entrepreneurs who actively used the platform for project management.

The company plans to delete all accounts and workspaces associated with Russia. Users are advised to export their data by September 8 to avoid losing it.

Instructions on How to Export

You can export individual pages, databases, or your entire workspace. In the desktop version, the export is done through the "•••" menu, where you can select the desired format and settings. The process is similar on mobile devices. Exporting can be used for data backup or transferring it to other platforms.
