To set up BlancVPN with the WireGuard client on macOS devices you will need a WireGuard app and a configuration file.
Preparation
Install the WireGuard app from the App Store.
Get the .conf configuration file from your BlancVPN account. Choose the location → Other protocols → WireGuard. Save the .conf file. After you have downloaded the first .conf file, the file on the website will be automatically replaced by the next one, which you may download on your other device (Blanc_LT_VNO1 → Blanc_LT_VNO2, and so on).
Setup
Open the WireGuard app and click on + in the bottom left corner. The file dialog will appear. Choose Import tunnel(s) from file.
Find the previously downloaded .conf file and click on Import.
The operating system will ask for permission to add a VPN connection. Choose Allow.
The WireGuard file dialog will open again. To connect to a VPN tunnel, click Activate.
Well done! You are now connected to a fast VPN.
You may request VPN configurations for other regions and add them to WireGuard, following the same guidelines. This will allow you to change regions, if necessary.
Please note that you can’t use one configuration file on two devices in the same location. For example, if you have downloaded the file «WGSE…._5.conf» on your device, please use the file «WGSE…_4.conf» for another device in the same location and so on. The same file may be used only in another location.
Setting up KillSwitch for WireGuard — to make connection persistent
VPN connection may be lost when you switch between Wi-Fi networks or turn sleep mode on. To avoid this, set up KillSwitch for WireGuard. This will allow your VPN to reconnect automatically.
To set up KillSwitch:
Open the WireGuard app and choose the region (configuration), where you need automatic connection. Click on Edit in the bottom right corner.
Enter your Mac password.
In the Auto Connection section check Ethernet and Wi-Fi, then choose Any SSID in the drop-down menu. Click on Save in the bottom right corner.
Well done! Now your VPN will be automatically connected when you wake up your Mac or switch between Wi-Fi networks.
If you need to access a local network or a web configurator of your router, check Exclude private IP addresses.
