Fixing the “unexpected error occurred” problem with Outline on Windows

The Outline client for Windows requires Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable x86 libraries. If they are not installed on your computer, the program may display the “unexpected error”.

To fix this issue, install the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable x86 libraries. You can download them:

via the direct link https://aka.ms/vs/17/release/vc_redist.x86.exe;
from the library repository on the Microsoft website.

Note: When downloading the libraries from the Microsoft website, make sure to choose the x86 version, even if your operating system is 64-bit.

Once the installation is over, restart your computer and launch Outline once again.
