Setting up a fast VPN protocol on the popular Android TV operating system.

Installing the VPN app

Install the WireGuard VPN client on your TV.

Getting VPN Configurations

  1. Get a .conf configuration file from your account. Select the location Other protocolsWireGuard and save the required number of .conf configuration files.

Note that a file connected to one TV cannot be used on another device in the same location. For example, if you downloaded the «WGSE…._5.conf» file for your TV, use the «WGSE…_4.conf» file for another device in the same location, and so on. You can use a file with the same serial number only in a different location.

  1. Upload the file to your Google Drive cloud profile.

Preparation: connecting tools

To set up a VPN, you will need to send a configuration file from your smartphone or computer to your TV. So first you need to create a «bridge» that allows you to send files between the two devices. To do this, we suggest using the CX File Explorer app and Google Drive cloud storage.

  1. Install the CX File Explorer file manager on your TV.

  2. Allow application access to the files.

  3. Go to the Network tab and click Add new location.

  4. Select Google Drive and log in with your Google account. Grant the app permission to view files.

  5. Install Google Drive on your smartphone or computer.

Preparation is complete, now proceed to the setup.

Connecting VPN

  1. Open the WireGuard VPN client on your TV.

  2. Click the + Add button at the bottom right.

  3. From the suggested apps, select the previously installed CX Explorer.

  4. In the file manager, select the Network tab and your Google Drive profile.

  5. Find the .conf file that you uploaded to the cloud.

  6. The configuration will be automatically imported into WireGuard. Click it to activate the VPN.

  7. Upon first connection, a connection request will appear, click OK.

Done. Your TV is now connected to a reliable VPN. You can configure files for other locations in the same way.
