How to set up Shadowsocks on Windows

To set up BlancVPN using Shadowsocks on Windows devices, you will need the client and access key.

Downloading the VPN app

Download the «Shadowsocks-4.4.1.0.zip» file from the Github repository website.

Getting the access key

Get the access key for Outline from your personal account:

• Choose the location. Copy the access key by left-clicking on it.

VPN Setup

1. Unzip and run the «Shadowsocks.exe» client as an administrator.

2. After launching the application, right-click on it in the application tray and enable the «Associate ss://Links» option.

3. Right-click on the application again, go to the «Servers» tab, select «Import URL from clipboard» and apply the settings.

4. Right-click on the application again, go to the «System Proxy» tab, and select «Global». To turn off Shadowsocks, select «Disable».

The icon in the taskbar will turn blue, indicating that you are connected to the VPN.

Done! Your device is now set up with a fast and reliable VPN.

Additional Settings

Click on Shadowsocks → "Properties" → "Compatibility" → "Run as administrator" → "Ok".

VPN does not work after connection

If the internet does not work after this setup, go to Windows system settings, open the «Network & Internet» section, then «Proxy» and activate the «Use a proxy server» switch and save.

Also, if the internet does not work after turning off Shadowsocks, you need to disable the «Use a proxy server» option.
