Split tunneling allows to divide the traffic so that certain devices are connected to the VPN while others work without the VPN. It is necessary for those who often use apps that are accessible only in your region.
Guidelines on setting up split tunneling
First, you need to install the OpenVPN app on your smartphone. Once done, please do the following:
1. Open the OpenVPN app.
2. Tap on the pencil icon by the connection name.
3. Swipe pages to the right until you find Allowed apps and open this page.
4. To finish the setup, you may choose any of two alternative options:
In the line «VPN is used for all apps but exclude selected», switch the toggle to «Off». Then select those apps that you want to be redirected via VPN (social media, for instance).
OR
In the line «VPN is used for all apps but exclude selected», leave the toggle «On». Then select those apps that you do not want connected to the VPN (your browser, for example).
The settings will be automatically saved, and the split tunneling will be activated.
